Gwen has been working with clay for more than a decade and specialises in hand-building techniques. She is a member of Canterbury Potters and her current work explores the tension between functional and non-functional. Gwen works in porcelain to create forms reminiscent of functional domestic-ware but through alteration and a process of elimination undermines their functionality. As an object this tension becomes the resolution.
