Form Gallery hosts Peter Collis for a solo exhibition through the month of July 2017. Peter Collis has worked with clay nearly all of his life; the main focus of his work has been the handling of shape and surface. Collis is a highly skilled thrower and a leader in technical aspects - he creates pure form vessels, which he then treats in a wide range of methods: he makes his own luster glazes, crackle glazes, textured engobe, and in his new works he has been experimenting with matte finishes and crystal glazes. He formulates clay bodies for particular purposes and adjusts a glaze to give him precisely what he requires in an eyelash drop, rich colour finishes the surface to complement the forms. Peter exhibits internationally and is represented in collections around the world.
