Kate McIntyre
Kate McIntyre has been working predominantly in ceramics since completing a Bachelor of Design in 2009. Kate’s current work is inspired by patterns and structures found in nature. Her interest in the natural world stems not only from the beautiful forms and intricate patterns, but also from the efficient and economical use of material. Kate is interested in the intersection of technology and craft. By combining both traditional handcraft techniques along with computer aided design, she is able to retain the importance of material knowledge and the process of making by hand, while exploring how the use of technology can impact on the creative process and outcomes.
